While soaking in the Lord’s presence, I began to ask Him where He wanted to meet with me. The following is the sweet encounter that I had with Him. Jesus wants to meet with all of us on a deep personal level. All it takes is more of your time to look into His eyes of love.
Lord, I see You standing in the doorway of a bridal boutique on a busy, bustling sidewalk of a crowded city street. Many people pass You by, not even noticing the beauty of Your gaze. All I can see is the anticipation in You as our eyes meet and Your love draws me like a magnet to Your side. How can they not see You? I take Your hand and and we go in. Your smile illuminates the entire atmosphere around us. Those working in the shop ask if they can help, and You point out a dress they didn’t even know was there. It stood alone on display in a room off to the side, away from all the other gowns. A light shone down on the garment from some unknown source. Joy never leaves Your expression; Your smile dances through my soul. You tell the clerk that price is no object, for You have already paid the price it costs to adorn Your bride in the most extravagant gown imaginable. It is absolutely dazzling. Pure white without spot or wrinkle. Diamonds hang like lace; gold was it’s thread. You adorn me in this beautiful garment; a perfect fit. Then You place a breathtaking crown filled with precious jewels on my head, atop the veil that trails behind us like a path of glory. It was such a joy to Your heart to take me on Your arm and lead me into a great ballroom. You then invited me to dance with You – heart to heart, and cheek to cheek. The love I feel in Your embrace causes an overwhelming urge to never leave this place. This is what real love feels like! Then You ask me why I love You. I find my only answer is – “Because You first loved me.” I begin to feel Your longing to dance with them – all those who have never danced the dance. I know the only way they can come is by way of the path I came ~ The path of love ~ “Lord, how can they know this love?!” I hear You say, “Stay close to My embrace. Remember what I have clothed you with. Listen for the whisper that I will speak. I’ll show you how to love them, one by one.”
It’s in the knowing of our beauty and our worth that we can bring others into the dance. It’s not what we have acquired by works but by Your grace. For when You look at me You behold Your redeeming power. You see me complete in You. When You hear me pray, You cause all of heaven to stand at attention. When You hear my worship, Your ears hear a sound more beautiful than a great symphony. When You hear me cry out, it shouts louder than a sonic boom. When You see me break down and weep in pain, Your river of tears are released to wash it all away. When You see me gain silent, hidden victory, You rejoice more than a man finding great treasure. When You see me take up my cross and die, You pour out new life, and the dance begins again ~ although it never ended ~ it is an eternal dance.
